Kenya Youth Alliance

Anchored by Open Gate Foundation, Led by Youth, Driving Inclusive Innovation

Who We Are

Kenya Youth Alliance is an autonomous, survivor-led governance arm under Open Gate Foundation. We empower youth to lead civic transformation, build inclusive digital tools, and shape policy through lived experience. Our mandate centers dignity, transparency, and community-driven innovation.

We operate independently within Open Gate Foundation’s survivor-led governance ecosystem, ensuring youth voices shape every layer of community transformation—from digital inclusion to climate justice.

We recognize youth as diverse change makers—activists, coders, caregivers, climate defenders, and entrepreneurs—each bringing unique lived experience to community transformation.

Our Flagship:Uwazi Hub

Uwazi Hub is our digital empowerment initiative—where youth build civic tech, map public services, and train peers in mobile journalism, coding, and data storytelling.

We:

  • Build civic tech for transparency and accountability

  • Map governance gaps using open data and lived experience

  • Train youth in digital skills and mobile journalism

  • Ensure digital inclusion for youth with disabilities and marginalized groups

Uwazi Hub is a launch pad for youth-led innovation, rooted in lived experience and designed for real-world impact.
