Our Ecosystem

Autonomous Councils

Survivor-led governance councils, each rooted in the communities they serve and anchored within Open Gate Foundation. Each council shapes and leads its own programmatic work, while OGF provides the legal, financial, governance, safeguarding, and compliance backbone that helps the work grow responsibly.

Six councils, one shared mandate

Each council brings together people with lived experience, community knowledge, and a commitment to creating lasting change. While their areas of focus differ, they share a common commitment to locally led action, accountability, dignity, and community ownership.

Local leadership. Shared accountability.

Autonomy within an accountable ecosystem.

Councils have space to identify priorities, shape programmatic approaches, and lead work that reflects the realities of their communities. OGF provides the institutional backbone that supports responsible implementation and long-term growth.

Important: Autonomous Councils are not independent legal entities. They operate as integral parts of the OGF ecosystem, working within OGF's governance, financial, safeguarding, legal, and compliance framework.

Lived experience belongs at the table.

Our councils are rooted in the knowledge and leadership of the people closest to the issues they address. If you bring lived experience, community knowledge, skills, or a commitment to one of these areas, there may be a way to contribute to the ecosystem.
