Evangelism & Church Planting: Spreading the Gospel and Building Communities of Faith
At Open Gate Foundation Kenya, our outreach is deeply rooted in the understanding that we are all broken—both the materially and non-materially poor—and in need of restoration through a relationship with God. Our mission flows from this perspective, as we come alongside at-risk individuals and communities to affirm the unique gifts that God has placed within each of them. We are committed to empowering people to fulfill their God-given purpose, recognizing that true transformation comes through the development of individuals, not just programs. Our focus is on fostering sustainable growth and independence, while upholding the diversity and dignity of all people.
Church Planting: Extending the Reach of the Gospel
Church planting is a vital extension of our evangelistic efforts. Through strategic partnerships with pastors, evangelists, and church leaders, we support efforts to plant and grow Christ-centered churches in unreached and underserved communities. These partner pastors and evangelists often minister to multiple preaching points, visiting various locations to train, encourage, and shepherd the growing church communities.
Our work in church planting isn’t just about establishing buildings; it’s about creating spaces where people can encounter the transformative love of Jesus Christ, be discipled, and become leaders in their own communities.
Partnerships with Indigenous Ministries
We firmly believe that lasting change comes from within communities. That’s why we partner with indigenous ministries—local leaders with a vision and a plan to reach entire people groups or regions with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. These ministries are uniquely equipped to understand and meet the cultural, social, and spiritual needs of their communities. By supporting and resourcing these leaders, we help them expand their evangelistic efforts, plant new churches, and disciple believers in the most effective way possible.
Sharing the Gospel in Schools
In addition to church planting, we are passionate about sharing the Gospel in schools across Kenya. We recognize that young people are the future of the Church and of society. By teaching the Gospel and sharing Christ’s love in schools, we plant seeds of faith that will grow and flourish for generations to come. Our mission is inspired by the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20, where Jesus commands us to “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you…”
The Urgency of the Gospel: Our Greatest Challenge
As we look at the communities around us, we are faced with an overwhelming truth: every church is surrounded by multitudes without God, without hope. These people live, suffer, and die without ever knowing the saving grace of Christ. This is our greatest challenge—one that echoes the words of Paul to the early churches in Philippi, Corinth, Ephesus, Thessalonica, and Colossae. The urgency of the Gospel remains as strong today as it was in the first century.
The call to evangelism and church planting is clear: there are still so many who have not heard the Good News, and we are called to bring the light of Christ into their lives. Through the Open Gate Foundation Kenya, we are committed to this Mission—Reaching the Unreached, Discipling new believers, and building thriving church communities that will continue to spread the Gospel for generations to come.
By partnering with us, you join in the work of transforming lives and bringing the love of Christ to those who need it most. Together, we can ensure that the message of the Gospel is heard, that new churches are planted, and that communities are strengthened through the power of Jesus Christ.
The Open Gate Foundation seeks to work with congregations, organizations, individuals, and partners in proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ throughout the world
