Some of the OVC’s and their guardians in a meeting at Kaithe In support of Christ’s mandate to care for and protect His little ones, Open Gate Foundation is committed to safeguarding children in our programs from all forms of abuse and exploitation.
In partnership with local organization/churches, and all the stakeholders, we do this by:
• Providing a positive and safe environment where children can learn and play.
• Engaging the active commitment of the caring adults who surround the children to care for them with dignity, respect and integrity at all times.
• Preventing and/or reducing the risks of the incidence of abuse through enforcing child-protection policies, strategies and procedures. As established by the Act of parliament.
Cultural customs and traditional practices must not take precedence over the biblical guidelines for human relationships. Our heavenly Father declares the value and dignity of human life. Adults and children are made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27, Psalm 139). God’s Word must have the final authority in regulating compassionate treatment of every human being, including children.
We believe all Open Gate Foundation’s partners share and support our values of respecting and caring for children, women &youth. Every Foundation project is required to implement a plan of action for child protection. We regularly monitor implemented policies to ensure that expectations are fulfilled.
