Mazingira Council
Championing Climate Justice, Agro‑Ecology, and Environmental Stewardship
Identity and Purpose
The Mazingira Council is a thematic council of Open Gate Foundation dedicated to advancing climate justice, agro‑ecology, and environmental stewardship. It serves as the environmental arm of OGF’s survivor‑led ecosystem, mobilizing grassroots communities to protect biodiversity, restore ecosystems, and build climate‑resilient livelihoods.
We believe that environmental justice is inseparable from social justice. By empowering communities to care for creation, we ensure that women, youth, and vulnerable groups thrive in a sustainable future.
